Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope this message finds you well. Due to the three days our schools were closed for inclement weather this winter, I will be recommending adjustments to the 2025–2026 school calendar to the Board of Education for approval at its meeting on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

In order to maintain our planned end-of-year schedule and activities, the following dates are being proposed as make-up days and would become regular school days if approved by the Board:

• Tuesday, April 7, 2026 (originally part of Spring Break)
• Friday, May 8, 2026 RDS/Salem Campus (only) will be a half day for students and full day for staff to make up for the day lost due to building issue. 
• Wednesday, June 17, 2026 (originally designated as summer break)
• Thursday, June 18, 2026 (originally designated as summer break)

Graduations and completion ceremonies will remain in place as originally planned for the end of the year.

We understand that some families may have made prior travel or personal plans on one or more of these dates. If this applies to you, please contact your child’s building principal so that we may discuss your individual circumstances.

Following the March 24th Board of Education meeting, I will send a follow-up communication with the amended and officially approved school calendar.
