Cognitive Severe Program
Mission
To prepare high school students (ages 16-21 years) with severe cognitive and or multiple disabilities for a successful transition from school to adult community life.
Community Outings
At least once per month staff and students go on field trips. The goals are communications, development of life skills, socialization, and having fun.
Curriculum
The curriculum follows each student’s I.E.P. and parallels the NJCCCS. The focus of the curriculum is on life skills and communication.
Curricular Distinctives
Small animal husbandry project using tadpoles, fish and small mammals.
Horticulture awareness program including participation in the Salem County Fair.
RELATED SERVICES
All students receive Occupational, Physical, and Speech/Language Therapy, and adaptive physical education based on needs identified in their I.E.P.
